Lena D. Bruce Scholarship:
Alanna Saunders is a senior a Cambridge Rindge & Latin School (CRLS). Alanna is a hard working student and volunteers at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital and her local Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast. In addition, she mentors freshman students at Cambridge Rindge Latin School. Alanna participates in the MIT/Wellesley Upward Bound Program and is a member of the CRLS National Honor Society. Alanna is a dancer, cheerleader, and gymnast. She serves as secretary of the ceramics club and is a member of the student government, the Falcon Friends social club and Sisters on the Runway for domestic abuse awareness at CRLS. Alanna plans to major in Communications at Emmanuel College, Stonehill College or Curry College. Alanna would like to pursue a career in media journalism.

Anita Y. Griffey Xi Tau Book Award
​
Amari Dias is a senior at Melrose High School. She is a member of Hyde Park’s YMCA Leader’s club and helped organize the 2014 Holiday Toy Drive and 2015 Easter Basket Drive for local youth. Amari is a basketball player, cheerleader, and member of the Spanish Club at Melrose High School. Amari plans to major in either Computer Science or Business And Fashion Design at Sacred Heart University, St. John’s University, University of Rhode Island, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Bay State College, or Framingham State University.

Ashayla Sturgis is a senior at Cambridge Rindge Latin School (CRLS). Ashayla mentors Junior high students through the AVID program at CRLS and is a dance teacher at the Roxbury Center for Performing Arts. After majoring in Business and Spanish at University of California Los Angeles, Colby Sawyer University, or University of St. Joseph, Ashayla aspires to be an entrepreneur and make an impact on her community through providing mentorship and career advice to young mothers.
